Georeferencing

Annah
Hello. I needed assistance. I used gdal.translate to convert climate data
from .nc to raster ILWIS format. Then georeferenced using the latlong values
from the file. However, I realize now my map is upside down so may I made an
error somewhere. Could you please assist in positioning it well (see pic,
it's supposed to be map of Africa). I want to cut out my study area from
this map but I am failing to proceed because of the error.
Secondly, I have got a lot of files in my maplist so I would appreciate if
you tell me how to do this for the whole batch

Thank you.

You probably didn't make an error. One of the oddities of some nc maps is that they are turned around. It has to do with a different definition of the XY system that these maps use. Gdal translate doesn't handle that case correctly. Ilwis has an application mapmirrorrotate that can compensate for this. You can use the maplistapplic in Ilwis to batch process this
