Upload data impossible in SMCE tool - any suggestion?

Jennifer
Hello everybody,

I am trying to use the Spatial Multi Criteria Evaluation tool and in the problem definition mode I tried to upload data from my ILWIS database to the criteria tree. This is only possible for the first map, for more criteria, all the maps disappear from the list and cannot be added.

I tried ILWIS 3.3 academic, Ilwis 3.6 and Ilwis 7 on different computers and the problem remains. Does anybody have an idea how to solve the problem?

Best regards,

Jennifer

Hello!

There is a restriction on the data that are to be used in SMCE. The
restriction that you are encountering is that all data must have the
same "Georeference". The SMCE data-selector checks for this and enforces
consistency. If one image does not overlay perfectly over the ones that
are already selected in SMCE, it is not available in the data-selector.
The objective of this consistency enforcement is to prevent the user
from accidentally attempting to overlay images of different areas or
different pixel sizes, and discovering this mistake too late. The
alternative would have been to have ILWIS automatically transform (warp,
resample) the images to make them overlay perfectly, but then the user
would not understand how to improve the output result.
The solution is to choose the georeference of one of the images as the
"study area", and resample the other images to this georeference.

You can also have a look at the Help on the SMCE application.

Hello Bas Retsios,

thank you very much for your quick response!
I had all data with the same georeference but with different names on
the georeference.

Connecting all to one "study area" reference was the solution and the
SMCE upload works now perfectly!

Best regards,

Jennifer

Hi

I have a similar problem (where once one image is loaded into the decision tree, all other images become invisible), however, directing georeferencing information for all images to a single defined georeferencing file does not seem to solve the problem. I have checked the properties of all images and they appear identical in all respects (number of columns, rows, projection properties, etc.). Does any one perhaps have any other suggestions? (I have also tried different versions of ILWIS and two computers, both 32 bit and 64 bit platforms).

Thanks

Craig
